A response is not necessary in British English, but is becoming more frequent. Some of the ways of responding to thanks are: You're welcome. (mainly US) Not at all. (Formal, UK) It's my pleasure. Don't mention it. Any time. That's alright/okay. No problem.

Monty Python : nutty, zany, crazy! It was 40 years ago today that the first episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus appeared on the BBC. The show ran for four seasons, cranking out 45 episodes and unleashing their zany, crazy sense of humor on the world. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.
